Semi-Olympic swimming pool and gymnasium project in Gölcük to be completed by the end of the year
It was announced that the semi-Olympic swimming pool and multi-purpose gymnasium project built by Gölcük Municipality will be completed much earlier than the contract date.
It has been reported that the construction of the semi-Olympic swimming pool and multi-purpose gymnasium, which is ongoing by Gölcük Municipality in Yeni Mahalle, could be completed much earlier than planned, by the end of this year.
Location of the Facility and Inspections
Gölcük Municipality is constructing a new sports facility on Ali İhsan Paşa Street in Yeni Mahalle, in the area opposite the Ministry of Youth and Sports Credit and Dormitory Institution Gölcük Student Dormitory. Gölcük Mayor Ali Yıldırım Sezer visited the construction site and met with the personnel working on the project.
Expectation of Early Completion
Mayor Sezer, who discussed the sports facility construction—which under normal circumstances was required by the contract to be completed by September 9, 2027—with the authorities, received the response that the work could be finished by the end of the year. It was stated that it is possible for the project to be ready by the end of this year.
Technical Specifications and Equipment
Having a total area of 5,400 square meters, the facility will include 2 basketball and volleyball courts, a 1,200-square-meter training court, and a 25-meter 5-lane swimming pool. The project will be completed and opened to service in a much shorter time than planned.
The Fourth Facility Brought to the District
The laid-foundation semi-Olympic swimming pool and multi-purpose gymnasium project holds the distinction of being the fourth sports facility in the district. Investments, including facilities built by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, are of great importance for the youth of the region.
