Three suspects detained in Batman gym fire investigation
Three suspects have been apprehended in the judicial investigation launched regarding the incident where three people lost their lives in a fire that broke out in the sauna section.
As a result of a fire that broke out in the sauna section of a gym operating in Batman, 12 people were affected, and three of the injured who were rushed to the hospital could not be saved. Within the framework of the investigation initiated following the incident, the business owner and two staff members were detained.
Fire Broke Out in the Sauna Section
A fire broke out for reasons not yet determined yesterday evening in the sauna section of a gym located in Gültepe Neighborhood of Batman. Upon notification of the incident, numerous fire, AFAD, UMKE, and police teams were dispatched to the region.
Injured Transported to Hospital
The flames were brought under control and extinguished with the intervention of the teams. A total of 12 people affected by the fire, including those in critical condition, were transferred to various hospitals in the city and placed under treatment.
Three People Lost Their Lives
Among the injured receiving treatment at the hospital, 44-year-old Şanzime Sarıgül, 42-year-old Emine Yani, and 43-year-old Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç lost their lives despite all interventions. The identities and roles of those who lost their lives were reflected to the public.
Bodies Buried
The bodies of the three individuals who lost their lives were delivered to their relatives after the completion of autopsy procedures and were buried. This tragic event plunged their relatives and the city's residents into mourning.
Detentions Within the Scope of the Investigation
The investigation initiated regarding the incident by the Batman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is being meticulously continued. Within this scope, the business owner and two staff members were detained, while the procedures of the suspects at the police station are ongoing.
