Two people lose their lives in gym fire in Batman
One of the severely injured victims receiving hospital treatment following a fire in the sauna section of a private gym in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood has passed away.
A fire broke out for reasons yet undetermined in the sauna section of a private gym located in the Gültepe neighborhood of Batman province. As dense smoke engulfed the building, numerous search and rescue as well as security teams were dispatched to the area.

A fire broke out for an as-yet-undetermined reason in the sauna section of a private gym located in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood. Following the outbreak, dense smoke quickly spread throughout the entire building.
Teams Mobilized
Upon reports that dense smoke had rapidly spread, fire, AFAD, UMKE, and police teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene. Specially equipped teams carried out a comprehensive intervention in the building.
Injured Taken to Hospitals
As a result of the meticulous intervention by the specially equipped teams, individuals rescued from the building were taken to various hospitals across the city for treatment. The treatment of the injured continued at medical facilities.
Death Toll Rises to Three
While initial statements reported that two people had lost their lives, the death toll rose to three after Gülsüm Öztekin Tunç, who was receiving treatment in the hospital as severely injured, also passed away. The other deceased individuals were identified as Şaziment Sarıgül and Emine Yani.
Multi-Pronged Investigations Ongoing
It was reported that alongside judicial and administrative investigations regarding this tragic incident, an inspector was also assigned by the Social Security Institution (SGK) to examine the matter.
