Two people lost their lives in a fire at a private gym in Batman

A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined at a private gym located in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood. While those trapped were evacuated through the intervention of teams arriving at the scene, two people taken to the hospital could not be saved despite all interventions.

A fire broke out for reasons yet to be determined at a private gym in Batman's Gültepe neighborhood. Upon notification, a large number of fire, AFAD, UMKE, and health teams were dispatched to the scene.

Evacuation of Trapped Individuals

It was stated that approximately 30 people were trapped inside the gym during the fire, and as a result of the intensive efforts of the teams, the citizens inside were safely evacuated.

Loss of Life and Condition of the Injured

Among the injured affected by smoke and taken to hospitals in the city by ambulances, 42-year-old Emine Yani and 45-year-old Şanzime Sarıgük lost their lives after failing to be saved despite all medical interventions at the hospital.

Governor Canalp's Inspections at the Scene

Batman Governor Ekrem Canalp conducted inspections at the scene and made a statement. Canalp stated that four searches were conducted in the gym by fire crews and no trace of any other citizen was found from start to finish.

Sauna Section Examination and Investigation

According to information obtained from the Governor's Office and related sources, it is assessed that the fire broke out in the sauna section, while judicial and administrative investigations regarding the incident are continuing from multiple angles.

Assignment of Inspectors by the Ministry

The Ministry of Labor and Social Security also announced that inspectors were assigned by the Social Security Institution to investigate the fire in all its aspects.
