The expert monitoring delegation of the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment met with the People's Committee of Lang Son province to evaluate the implementation of digital transformation policies and laws for the 2024-2026 period.

Date and Chairmanship of the Meeting

The working session held on the morning of October 7 was chaired by Tran Van Khai, Vice Chairman of the Committee and deputy head of the monitoring delegation.

Key Figures Attending the Meeting

Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Defense, Security and Foreign Relations, and Nguyen Phuong Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Committee on Legal and Judicial Affairs, took part in the meeting.

Representatives from various committees, central ministries, and leaders of Lang Son province also participated in the meeting.

Lang Son Province's Steering System

Representatives of the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee stated that they have streamlined the steering committee system in the field of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation from the provincial level down to the commune level.

Investment and Personnel Challenges

The province's digital transformation efforts still face various challenges regarding investment resources and expert personnel.

There are only 33 officials and officers assigned to digital transformation in the province, while personnel at the municipal level carry out these duties as an additional responsibility.

Committee's Assessment and Recommendations

Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Khai expressed his appreciation for Lang Son's efforts in implementing digital transformation.

The monitoring team recommended that digital transformation be linked with socio-economic development and that information security be ensured.
