Economic Competitiveness Targeted Through Science, Technology, and Digital Transformation Initiatives
At a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, progress under Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW in the third quarter of 2026 was evaluated with the aim of increasing economic efficiency.
During a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, the implementation stages of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW regarding the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the third quarter of 2026 were discussed, emphasizing the enhancement of economic quality.
High-Level Attendees
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung delivered the closing speech of the meeting. The session was attended by Politburo member and Standing Committee Secretary Tran Cam Tu, the Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee, and leaders of ministries.
Additionally, Party Central Committee Member and City Party Committee Secretary Le Ngoc Quang, along with other local officials, were present at the meeting in the Da Nang branch.
Implementation Status of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW
In the report presented by the Standing Committee of the Central Steering Committee, it was stated that the implementation of the resolution forms an important foundation for economic efficiency and competitiveness.
It was reported that out of 2,011 tasks tracked system-wide, 1,326 have been completed, 482 are being regularly implemented, and 176 are ongoing.
Databases and Digital Infrastructure
The creation and connection processes of national and specialized databases have gained momentum. Eight out of twelve core databases have been synchronized with the National Data Center.
Sixty-nine out of one hundred and four specialized databases have been connected, and digital infrastructure efforts have been expanded for areas with weak signals.
Contribution Rates to Growth and GDP
According to data from the Ministry of Finance, the added value share of science, technology, and digital transformation in GDP is expected to rise to 16.51 percent in 2025.
Total factor productivity is estimated to have increased by approximately 2.91 percent annually during the 2021-2025 period.
Priority Objectives for the Future Period
In the upcoming period, the focus will be on resolving delayed tasks, completing institutional frameworks, and reducing administrative procedures.
Allocating resources to strategic technologies and commercializing research results will be encouraged.
Prime Minister's Assessments and Call to Action
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung appreciated the determination of agencies and local governments, stating that the development of digital infrastructure and databases is a fundamental task.
With little time left to complete the 2026 targets, he called on all stakeholders to make greater efforts.
