Fast-Track Application Coming for Artificial Intelligence Inventions
With a new application to be implemented under the leadership of TÜRKPATENT, it is planned to accelerate patent processes for artificial intelligence inventions.
Within the scope of the 2026-2030 Turkey Artificial Intelligence Action Plan, coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, TÜRKPATENT aims to launch a fast-track application for inventions involving artificial intelligence technologies within one year.

Details of the Fast-Track Application
With the Artificial Intelligence Fast-Track application to be carried out by TÜRKPATENT, transparent declaration and accelerated examination processes will be operated in industrial property applications. This application is targeted to become fully operational within the next year.
Legal and Ethical Framework Studies
Taking into account the European Union's proportional risk approach, a national artificial intelligence legal and ethical framework will be established. It is planned to determine tiered obligations according to the risk level of artificial intelligence systems.
Assessments According to Risk Level
Simple checklists will be prepared for low-risk applications, and a short-form algorithmic impact assessment will be applied for medium-risk applications. In high-impact areas such as health, education, and justice, extended assessments and model cards will be standardized.
Data Protection and Compliance Processes
Compliance between the Law on the Protection of Personal Data and the EU General Data Protection Regulation will be strengthened. These compliance studies will be expanded to include data processing scenarios specific to artificial intelligence.
