The opening of the “Green STEM From Earth to Sky” Science Festival, organized by the Hatay Provincial Directorate of National Education within the scope of TÜBİTAK 4007, took place at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University.

Opening Ceremony of the Festival

The science festival, which opened in the courtyard of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University, will bring students together with various activities in the fields of science, technology, and STEM.

The opening program of the Science Festival was attended by Provincial Director of National Education Harun Tüysüz, HMKU Rector Veysel Eren, district directors of national education, educational administrators, academics, teachers, students, and guests.

Protocol Speeches

Speaking at the ceremony, Provincial Director Harun Tüysüz drew attention to the importance of transforming science from being merely a lesson taught in classrooms into a learning environment experienced by students.

Emphasizing the importance of raising generations who think scientifically, question, and are sensitive to their environment in accordance with the Turkey Century Education Model, Tüysüz thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the realization of the festival.

Stand Visits and Projects

Following the opening program, protocol members visited the stands prepared within the scope of the science festival and closely examined the students' work and STEM applications.

Students also provided detailed information to the protocol members attending the ceremony about their original projects and scientific applications.

Events and Workshops

Various activities were planned to support students' scientific curiosity and develop their production and problem-solving skills.

Within the scope of the festival, twenty-eight different science and STEM workshops, special workshops for special education students, conferences, and sky observations will be held.
