Huawei has announced that it has brought forward the release date of its next-generation Ascend 960DT artificial intelligence chip to the first quarter of 2027 in order to compete with Nvidia.
Launch Date Moved Forward
Huawei has updated the release schedule for its next-generation Ascend 960DT AI chip, announcing that it will be ready in the first quarter of 2027. The launch, which was previously planned for the third quarter, has been brought forward by the company.
Year-on-Year Performance Progression
A Huawei spokesperson stated that the Ascend 960 chips are being prepared earlier than planned and that performance is doubling year after year.
Massive Computing Architecture
The company aims to unite hundreds of thousands or even millions of AI chips under a single massive computer roof using the Peerium Computing Architecture and UnifiedBus technology.
Large-Scale Systems
Eric Xu stated that they are building larger AI systems for training and inference processes, and expressed that the Atlas 950 SuperPoD and SuperCluster systems are the first products based on this architecture.
