A comprehensive cooperation agreement covering the development of military systems, joint production, technology sharing, and mutual procurement of defense products between Turkey and Brazil has entered into force.

Joint Production Era

It is permitted to carry out joint projects between the defense companies and authorized institutions of the two countries. Research, design, development, production, and modernization activities can be conducted on military equipment and defense products.

Technology Transfer

The cooperation will not be limited solely to the purchase and sale of products, but will also encompass technology transfer and joint R&D projects. It is aimed to increase technical contacts between defense companies and research centers.

Sales to Third Countries

As one of the most important clauses of the agreement, it is allowed to sell the final products to be manufactured in joint projects to third countries, subject to the mutual agreement of the parties and observance of international obligations.

Mutual Procurement

Turkey and Brazil will be able to supply defense equipment produced or developed in their own countries to each other. Cooperation will also be conducted for the mutual sale or evaluation of surplus defense products.

Confidentiality Rules

Special protection rules have been established for classified information that may be shared during joint work. The parties will not share this information with third parties without the written permission of the other country.
