Konya Science Festival Opens Its Doors to Visitors
Organized in Konya, BilimFest offered technology-filled moments to visitors of all ages with a special show of one thousand drones, flight shows, and over 200 scientific activities.
The 11th Konya Science Festival (BilimFest), organized by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality at the Konya Science Center, was successfully completed after four days of events. Held in an area of approximately 100,000 square meters, the festival brought together Turkey's leading technology and defense industry organizations with science enthusiasts.
Opening Ceremony with Wide Participation
The official opening ceremony of the festival was held with the participation of Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi, Governor of Konya İbrahim Akın, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Zekeriya Coştu, AK Party Konya Deputy Mustafa Hakan Özer, and AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Fatih Özgökçen. Following the opening, protocol members inspected the stands in the festival area.
Giant Technology and Defense Organizations Together
Spanning a wide area of approximately 100,000 square meters, the festival featured important institutions contributing to Turkey's national technology initiative. Defense industry and technology giants such as TÜBİTAK, ASELSAN, HAVELSAN, ROKETSAN, BAYKAR, TUSAŞ, and TÜMOSAN set up stands to meet with youth and visitors. Additionally, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of National Defense were also represented at the event.
Rich Event Program and Shows
During the four-day festival, over 200 scientific events and hands-on workshops were organized for visitors. Participants experienced moments full of science with simulators, digital experience areas, flight shows, and stage performances. The special show of one thousand drones, held as part of the festival, attracted great interest from the audience.
The festival, which aimed for over 400,000 visitors this year, successfully concluded after hundreds of events that served as a source of inspiration in the field of science and technology for participants of all ages.
