Ministry of Health Develops Common Language for Health Data
The Ministry of Health is establishing national health database standards to define and synchronize data within the sector.
As medical data is sourced from many different fields and specialized databases, the Ministry of Health is gradually standardizing health data with the goal of a unified method within the sector.
Data Standardization Process
To establish a reference base and synchronize data across systems, the Ministry of Health is developing national health database standards.
During the digital transformation process, standardizing how data is defined is of great importance for connectivity and synchronization between databases.
Meeting and Priority Criteria
On April 9, 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Health to discuss the development of a plan and roadmap for the implementation of national health database standards.
Based on Articles 14 and 15 of Decree No. 102/2025/ND-CP, four priority criteria have been established.
Legal Bases and Architectural Framework
The Ministry of Health has developed these standards based on the provisions of the 2023 Data Law, the 2023 Electronic Transactions Law, the 2023 Medical Examination and Treatment Law, and the 2025 Standards and Technical Regulations Law.
The draft standard is required to comply with the Ministry of Health's Digital Transformation Architecture Framework and Data Architecture Framework, which are being finalized by the National Health Information Center.
