Ministry of Science and Technology Holds August 2026 Press Conference
The Ministry shared data on institutional reforms and digital technology growth.
At the regular press conference held by the Ministry of Science and Technology in August 2026, important projects and growth figures in the fields of institutional reform, digital technology, artificial intelligence, postal services, and industrial property were shared with the public.
Institutional Development and Legal Regulations
In the August 2026 period, the National Assembly unanimously approved the law amending and supplementing certain articles of the Radio Frequency Law, the Telecommunications Law, the Electronic Transactions Law, and the Technology Transfer Law with the votes of all deputies.
Additionally, eight draft decisions were submitted to the Prime Minister by the Ministry's management, while three new circulars within the institution's jurisdiction were officially issued and put into effect.
Digital Technology and Export Data
While the digital technology sector showed significant growth during this period, August revenues were estimated to reach 680.586 trillion VND.
Infrastructure and Postal Sector Developments
The National Data Integration and Sharing Platform reached a total of 4.7 billion transactions, while the country's IPv6 adoption rate rose to 66%.
With this rate, the country ranked second in the Southeast Asian region and seventh globally, while postal sector revenues increased by 22% to 9.260 trillion VND.
Future Plans and Awards
Targets planned for the September 2026 period include the development of the rare earths project and the establishment of strategic technology laboratory centers.
Additionally, the Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Product Award for 2026 was officially announced at the press conference, and it was stated that applications will be accepted until October.
