New Science and Technology Programs Project Approved
A strategic decision aimed at restructuring national research and innovation programs for the 2026-2035 period has entered into force.
Approved by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung, the new project aims to restructure national science, technology, and innovation programs throughout the 2026-2035 period, establishing a strong integration between basic and applied research.
Approval of the Project and Its Legal Basis
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung signed Decision No. 1951/QD-TTg dated October 8, 2026, officially approving the Project on Restructuring National Science, Technology, and Innovation Programs for the 2026-2035 Period.
General Objective and Program System
The general objective of the project is to divide the program system within its scope into six main groups. Through this configuration, it is aimed to ensure an uninterrupted connection ranging from basic research to applied research, and from technology development to innovation.
Targets for the 2026-2030 Period
Among the specific targets envisioned for the 2026-2030 period of the designated strategic planning is the establishment and operationalization of 30 strong research groups that fully meet regional standards.
