RE:ACT Program Supports Youth Initiatives for Sustainable Development
At an event held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the RE:ACT program, which transforms technological ideas into solutions, was introduced.
The introduction seminar of the RE:ACT Program, held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, discussed the innovation competition aimed at transforming young people's technological ideas into sustainable social solutions.
Introduction of the RE:ACT Program
The RE:ACT Program, organized in partnership with the National Innovation Center, UNDP, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the support of Samsung, was introduced.
At the introductory seminar, knowledge, technology, and the entrepreneurial spirit were brought together to offer new perspectives on social development issues.
Emphasis on Innovation and Practical Solution
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Quyen, Head of the NIC Business Support Department, drew attention to rapid developments in science and technology.
It was emphasized that the true value of an idea lies not only in its innovativeness but also in its ability to transform into a practical solution.
University's Entrepreneurship Activities
Dr. Truong Cong Tuan, Director of the Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, made statements.
It was stated that over the past two years, thanks to green innovation and incubation activities, approximately 200 projects have been supported and 10 businesses have been established.
Importance of Interdisciplinary Projects
Mr. Pham Tuan Hiep, Investment Director of BK Holdings, touched upon the main distinctions between projects.
By comparing projects with pre-determined tasks and innovative work where students independently define tasks, the importance of the interdisciplinary spirit was conveyed.
Partnership with Youth and Support
Ms. Pham Thu Trang, National Youth Coordinator for UNDP in Vietnam, stated that youth are recognized as direct partners.
It was announced that within the scope of the RE:ACT program, participating teams will enter a Living Lab testing environment for product validation.
It was reported that the program provides participating teams with financial support of up to $15,000, comprehensive training, and mentorship opportunities.
