Şanlıurfa Prepares to Host the TEKNOFEST Southeast Event
The festival, carried out under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation, and STM, will open its doors at the Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.
Şanlıurfa, known for its historical heritage, continues its preparations for the Aviation, Space and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST Southeast, which will be held from September 30 to October 4.
Festival Date and Location
The festival, implemented under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation, and Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc. (STM), will take place at the Şanlıurfa GAP Airport between September 30 and October 4.
The organization, for which Anadolu Agency is the Global Communication Partner, aims to bring together technology and aviation enthusiasts in the region.
Encounter of Cultural Heritage and Technology
Hosting significant centers from the Neolithic period such as Göbeklitepe and Karahantepe, Şanlıurfa will present its thousands of years of history to visitors under the same roof with next-generation technologies.
Within the scope of the event, in addition to various competitions focusing on science and technology, breathtaking air shows and educational workshops will also be open to participants.
Preparation Works and Expectations
Şanlıurfa Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar stated that this organization will be the most comprehensive event held in the city to date and that they expect more than 1 million visitors.
As part of the preparations at the GAP Airport, ŞUSKİ teams transported water from 7.5 kilometers away to establish an infrastructure capable of meeting the daily needs of 350,000 people, and asphalt paving has been completed across an area of 136,000 square meters.
Accommodation and Social Events
It was stated that there are no vacancies left in hotels and accommodation facilities in the city, and street concerts and various social events are also planned during the festival.
Furthermore, Şanlıurfa is preparing to host the UNESCO Creative Cities of Music Meeting right after TEKNOFEST.
