Science and Technology Event at Village School by Mamak Municipality
During the program held at Kutludüğün İmam Hatip Secondary School, students engaged in hands-on activities in science and space-themed workshops.
Organized by Ankara Mamak Municipality within the framework of the TÜBİTAK 4009 Support Program, the "Science and Technology Adventure in the Village" event brought children together in practical workshops.
Purpose of the Event
Implemented at Kutludüğün İmam Hatip Secondary School, the program provided students with the opportunity to learn by experimenting and observing.
Held between October 6-8 by the Mamak Science Center, the event aimed to increase children's participation in scientific processes.
Various Workshops
Workshops prepared in different fields such as light, sound, agriculture, and astronomy attracted great interest from the students.
During this process, children found the opportunity to support their skills in observing, asking questions, developing designs, and problem-solving.
Light and Sound Studies
Experiencing the making of a projection device in the Journey of Light workshop, students examined the effects of sound energy through a vibration experiment.
Thanks to the workshop titled Seeing the Unseen in the Footsteps of Sound, participants gained the chance to directly observe physical phenomena.
Agriculture and Space
In the Agriculture from Village to Space workshop, the conditions required for seeds to germinate were discussed, and how these conditions could be provided in space was explained.
Children who designed a Saturn model in the My Ringed Planet workshop prepared model boats using the STEM approach.
Environment and Recycling
Detailed information was shared about the protection of water resources and their thrifty use in the Water Ecology workshop.
In the Transformation Journey from Waste to Art in the Footsteps of Nature event, materials collected from nature were transformed into various products.
Solar Observation
In the Earth to Sky Observation workshop, which was one of the most striking parts of the program, a solar observation was conducted using a telescope.
Thanks to this application in the field of astronomy, students closely examined the sky and explored topics they were curious about.
