Science, Technology, and Digital Transformation Increase the Added Value of Economic Sectors

During the 57th thematic meeting of the Central Executive Committee, led by Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, the contributions of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation to socio-economic development, as well as the results of operations in the third quarter of 2026, were discussed.

Purpose of the Meeting and Participants

The meeting, chaired by Politburo Member, Prime Minister, and Head of the 57th Central Executive Committee Le Minh Hung, was attended by Permanent Member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu and numerous ministry and agency leaders.

Held in a hybrid format combining both in-person and online participation from the government headquarters down to provincial and municipal Party committees, the session addressed economic growth targets.

Task Tracking and Removal of Administrative Procedures

According to the report by the Ministry of Public Security, out of 2,011 tasks tracked in the system, 1,326 have been completed, while institutional and administrative procedural bottlenecks have been resolved by the relevant agencies.

The synchronization processes of the National Data Center and databases were successfully carried out, clearing a large portion of Party member records.

Economic Added Value and Digital Transformation Ratios

According to preliminary estimates by the Ministry of Finance, the share of added value from science, technology, and digital transformation in GDP is projected to rise to 16.51 percent in 2025.

In the same year, the added value share of the digital economy in the country is estimated to be approximately 14.02 percent of GDP.

Entrepreneurship and Technology Company Ecosystem

Across the country, approximately 960 science and technology companies operate alongside 33 high-tech companies.

Additionally, there is a creative entrepreneurship ecosystem encompassing 13 high-tech application establishments and over 4,000 businesses, organizations, and individuals.
