Statement on Moon Target and Space Economy from Turkish Space Agency President Kıraç
It was announced that Turkey will become the first Muslim country and the ninth in the world to reach the Moon with its own capabilities next year.
Speaking at the 77th International Astronautical Congress held in Antalya, Turkish Space Agency President Kıraç announced that Turkey will reach the Moon next year with its own capabilities and that the technologies in this field are largely domestic.

Participation was realized in the 77th International Astronautical Congress held in Antalya, coordinated by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, and hosted by the Turkish Space Agency and SAHA Istanbul.
Growing Space Economy and Market Share
Stating that while the global economy is growing by 3 percent, the space economy is recording a growth of 8 to 9 percent, it was emphasized that companies and entrepreneurs in Turkey must get a share of this huge market.
National Space Program and Astronaut Missions
Within the framework of studies under the National Space Program, the first astronaut Alper Gezeravcı was sent on a science mission, and subsequently, Tuva Cihangir Atasever was also included in a space mission.
Moon Access Target and Domestic Production Ratio
It was stated that Turkey will become the first Muslim country and the ninth in the world to reach the Moon with its own capabilities next year, and that over 80 percent of the technologies to be used in this process are provided through domestic capabilities.
Spaceport and Domestic Navigation Technologies
While a spaceport that will ensure independent access to space is among the key targets, the domestic atomic clock of the earth observation and positioning satellite developed for domestic navigation was sent into space and testing processes have been initiated.
