Students' award-winning underwater rocket and UAVs are exhibited at TEKNOFEST
Award-winning unmanned aerial vehicles and an underwater rocket developed by university students are meeting visitors at the festival in Şanlıurfa.
The award-winning projects developed by the Girift UAV and Beloga Fof teams started to be exhibited at TEKNOFEST held in Şanlıurfa, following their rankings in competitions in Gaziantep and Kocaeli.
The Journey of Award-Winning Projects
Composed of students studying in different departments, the Girift UAV Team and the Beloga Fof Team won awards in various competitions with the original projects they developed after long-term work.
The Success of the Girift UAV Team
The product of approximately one year of work and produced with domestic software, the 3 UAVs can be controlled via a mobile application. These aircraft were deemed worthy of the Most Original Software Award in the competition in Gaziantep.
Sedasef Underwater Rocket
The underwater rocket called Sedasef, developed by the Beloga Fof Team, won the Most Original Design Award at the competition within the scope of TEKNOFEST Blue Homeland in Kocaeli.
Şanlıurfa TEKNOFEST Gathering
The students' award-winning projects were presented to the appreciation of visitors at the TEKNOFEST organization held in Şanlıurfa between September 30 and October 4.
Record Participation from the University
Stating that a total of 6 teams from ATÜ won awards this year, Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Sözen expressed their satisfaction with the success achieved by the students.
Technical Specifications of UAVs
Emre Yılmaz, an Aerospace Engineering student, stated that the UAVs produced entirely from composite materials are managed instantly via a mobile application without the need for a pilot or ground station.
Design of the Underwater Rocket
İbrahim Halilkaya and Enes Dursun noted that the nose cone, fin, and propeller of the rocket, designed with domestic resources, were hydrodynamically developed to increase underwater performance.
