TEKNOFEST Southeast Preparations in Şanlıurfa Reach Final Stage

Preparations for TEKNOFEST Southeast, to be held in Şanlıurfa under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the T3 Foundation, and Defense Technologies Engineering, have reached the final stage at GAP Airport and throughout the city.

Intensive Works at GAP Airport

Metropolitan Mayor Mehmet Kasım Gülpınar inspected the ongoing preparations at GAP Airport, where the events will take place, and received detailed information from the teams.

With the works carried out in coordination with public institutions, a comprehensive transformation was carried out in the airport area, ranging from infrastructure to asphalt paving.

Infrastructure and Asphalt Arrangements

To meet the water needs of the region, drinking water was brought from a distance of approximately 7.5 kilometers and the sewerage infrastructure was renewed.

A total of 136,000 square meters of hot asphalt work was carried out in cooperation with the Highways, of which 120,000 square meters were completed by the municipality.

Visitor Expectations and Transportation

For the organization, which is expected to see great interest in Şanlıurfa, it is targeted that more than 1 million visitors will come to the city.

Coordination is being ensured with relevant institutions to prevent any disruptions in transportation along the 35-40 kilometer route between the city center and the airport.

Accommodation and Events in the City Center

Occupancy rates in hotels and public guesthouses in the city have reached the highest levels, and plans have been made for the transportation of visitors.

In accordance with the title of UNESCO City of Music, street concerts and major events will be held at the airport.
