Tube Calf Technology That Enhances Livestock Productivity is Featured at TEKNOFEST
At the festival in Şanlıurfa, modern methods that enable the more rapid reproduction of superior genetic traits in the livestock sector are being shared with visitors.
Within the scope of TEKNOFEST events held at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport, tube calf technology and the OPU-IVF method, which increase productivity in livestock farming, are being introduced.
Promotional Activities at the Festival Area
Livestock technologies are attracting great interest at the festival, which is organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and the T3 Foundation.
Detailed information about tube calf technology is being conveyed to visitors at the TÜME center located at Şanlıurfa GAP Airport.
Application of the OPU-IVF Method
Egg cells harvested from animals with high genetic capacity are fertilized in a laboratory environment using special sperms.
The resulting embryos are placed into the uteruses of surrogate mothers, successfully initiating the pregnancy process.
Speed Advantage in Genetic Replication
Veterinarian Cansu Göktepe Turhan emphasized that the primary goal of the method is to multiply the genetic traits of high-yielding animals.
Thanks to this technology, multiple offspring can be obtained via surrogate mothers from quality animals that under normal conditions would only yield a single offspring per year.
Turkey's First Holstein Calf
Turkey's first Holstein calf was born in the Lüleburgaz district of Kırklareli thanks to the OPU-IVF method applied at the center.
This significant birth, which took place last year, concretely proved the success of technological efforts in the field of livestock.
