Turkish scientific team attended the Riyadh Global Biomedical Technology Congress
A delegation of Turkish academics delivered presentations and held high-level contacts in the field of health biotechnology at the congress held in Riyadh.
Participating in the Riyadh Global Biomedical Technology Congress held in Saudi Arabia within the scope of the Mecca Agreement, the Turkish scientific team made important presentations in the field of health biotechnologies and held bilateral cooperation talks.
The Delegation Representing Turkey at the Congress
Turkey was represented by experts in their fields at the three-day congress, which was also attended by senior health officials of Saudi Arabia.
The delegation included Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu and Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Pharmacy Dean Prof. Dr. Serdar Durdağı.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Şaban Tekin and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Güzel, who serves within the US FDA, were present in the Turkish delegation.
High-Level Meetings and Receptions
During the congress, the Turkish scientific team came together with prominent figures and institutional managers of Saudi Arabia.
Meetings were held with Saudi Princess Dr. Maha bint Mishari Al Saud and Congress President Prof. Dr. Bandar Alknawy.
Contacts with Scientists and Officials
The delegation met with SFDA Vice President Dr. Adel Alharf and King Abdullah International Medical Research Center director Prof. Dr. Ahmet Alaskar.
Saudi astronaut and scientist Rayyanah Barnawi and senior officials from the Ministry of Health and SFDA were also among the names contacted.
Inviting Figures and Cooperation Objectives
Participation in the congress was realized upon the invitation of KS Pharma CEO Dr. Khaled Albar and Kayan Sahala CSO Dr. Essam Hanashalshahaby.
Within the scope of the visit, strategic steps towards technology transfer in the field of health biotechnologies between the two countries were discussed.
Future-Oriented Projects and Vision
Critical issues such as drug and vaccine development, biosimilar drug production, and government supports were discussed during the talks.
It is aimed to implement joint projects and new collaborations in line with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 targets.
