Leadership of the Task Force

Jay Clayton will assume the leadership of the Super Intelligence Force artificial intelligence task force established by U.S. President Donald Trump. Clayton will continue to serve in his current role as Director of National Intelligence.

Other Figures Involved in the Administration

Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson, Office of Personnel Management Director Scott Kupor, and Pentagon research and technology official Emil Michael are also included in the leadership of this newly formed special board.

Report Preparation Process

The newly created working group is expected to submit a comprehensive report within 120 days to evaluate risks and opportunities, and to review incident reporting mechanisms.

Federal Regulations and Approach

To prevent the U.S. from falling behind global competitors like China in the field of artificial intelligence, the administration is adopting a light-touch regulatory approach by avoiding heavy federal regulations.
