US President Donald Trump signed an executive order mandating the use of the term super intelligence in official documents and federal agencies, aimed at alleviating concerns regarding artificial intelligence data centers and changing public perception.

Changing the Term Artificial Intelligence

President Donald Trump took steps to change the term, arguing that the word "artificial" in artificial intelligence makes the intelligence appear fake.

Following the executive order signed in late September, the US government began using the new term in its official documents and websites.

Government and Industry Reactions

Cabinet secretaries and other high-ranking officials made sure to use the new term immediately after the signing.

While Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has long supported the concept of super intelligence, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that they do not plan to change their company name.
