The Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology met with officials from the Russian Federation to share experiences in digital transformation, digital platforms, and online public services.

Experience Sharing Session

The Ministry of Science and Technology held a working session within the framework of the 2026 thematic exchange program organized for officials and leaders of the Russian Federation. The meeting addressed digital transformation, the development of digital platforms, and online public services.

Year of Cooperation and Highlights

Building on the success of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, 2026 has been declared the Year of Education, Science, and Technology Exchange. Deputy Minister Pham Duc Long emphasized achievements in research, telecommunications, information security, and human resource training.

Interest in Digital Systems

During the meeting, the process of building Vietnam's national population database and the VNeID electronic identification system particularly caught the attention of the Russian delegation. Officials received detailed information on the operation of the system.

Legal Framework and Future Steps

Hoang Huu Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Transformation Department, briefed participants on the legal framework, strategy, and information system architecture. The parties evaluated concrete cooperation opportunities in the process of digitizing state administration.
