WhatsApp officially announced that users running older iOS and Android versions or those who do not update their app will no longer be able to log in to the platform.

Those Who Do Not Update Will Not Be Able to Log In

Expected to be part of smartphones' update cycle, WhatsApp will no longer work on devices with outdated software following the recent change.

If you are consciously refusing to update your phone, it will not be possible to use the application again without performing the necessary update.

New Era for Unsupported Devices

If your phone no longer supports new software updates, you will need to switch to a current smartphone to continue using the application.

WhatsApp has started offering new warnings to users running older iOS or Android versions to protect their devices and accounts.

Operating System Update Requirement

When users want to log in to the application, the platform will ask them to update their operating system in order to regain access.

This obligation will apply to certain users on the Android and iOS platforms, regardless of which WhatsApp version is being used.

No Way to Bypass the Process

For users who forgot to update their device, the platform will request that they go to settings and complete the update, granting access once the process is finished.

According to reported information, there is currently no way to bypass this security and compatibility process, and logins cannot be made unless updates are performed.
