White House Announces AI Responsibility Accord and New Task Force Step
Signing a voluntary security accord with tech leaders and establishing a new interagency artificial intelligence task force, the White House also changed the terminology used in federal documents.
With the participation of President Trump, a voluntary security accord was signed among technology sector leaders, and decisions were implemented to change artificial intelligence terminology at the federal level and establish a new task force.
Voluntary Security Accord
Signed with the participation of more than half of technology industry leaders, the White House Super Intelligence Accord covers security policies including audits, third-party assessments, and risk reviews.
Control Layers
The signed accord text establishes a total of four different control layers: internal controls, an internal monitoring team, an independent external auditor, and an independent board committee.
Terminological Change
One of the enacted presidential executive orders mandates that the executive branch adopt the term super intelligence instead of artificial intelligence in non-binding documents.
Public Services Innovation
With another published executive order, the America.gov platform was comprehensively restructured to facilitate access to public services via an artificial intelligence chatbot.
Super Intelligence Task Force
An interagency task force led by Jay Clayton, Andrew Ferguson, Emil Michael, and Scott Kupor has been established to coordinate federal efforts and report on risks and opportunities.
