Yeşilyurt Science Center Contributes to the Development of Youth
Yeşilyurt Science Center continues to support the development of children and youth in the fields of science, technology, and production.
Operating under the Yeşilyurt Municipality R&D Directorate, the Yeşilyurt Science Center continues to contribute to the development of children and youth in the fields of science, technology, and production.
Training Programs and Age Groups
Various educational programs are implemented at the center, located within the Yeşilyurt Millet Garden, for the 4-6 age preschool group and elementary and middle school students between the ages of 7-14.
In the training sessions organized in many fields such as experimentation, coding, robotics, design, natural sciences, mathematics, and mentoring, students reinforce their theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
Workshop Studies and Objectives
Students participating in the workshop activities receive comprehensive training in areas such as algorithm creation, basic software logic, robot design, digital production, and project development.
The programs aim not only for children to acquire knowledge, but also to conduct experiments, make observations, solve problems, and develop their own projects.
Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshop
The Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshop, one of the most popular sections of the center, continues to be a favorite among students.
In this workshop, students carry out hands-on activities regarding planets, the Solar System, stars, galaxies, space technologies, and aviation science.
New Term Registrations and Applications
The center, which continues its education within the scope of the 2026-2027 Academic Year, has also met with intense interest for new term registrations.
While 302 students applied for TEKNOFEST training, 194 students enrolled in other applied science and technology training programs.
Number of Students Reached Since July
The center, brought to the district with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, continues its activities without interruption.
Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit noted that 1,500 students have been introduced to science and technology since July.
