Yeşilyurt Science Center Has Reached 1,500 Students Since July

Operating in Malatya's Yeşilyurt district, the Yeşilyurt Science Center has provided practical training focused on science, technology, and production to a total of 1,500 students since opening in July.

Establishment and Purpose of the Center

Brought to life with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, the Yeşilyurt Science Center opened its doors in July with the aim of bringing children and young people together with science.

Located within the Yeşilyurt Nation's Garden, the center has been specially designed to increase students' curiosity about science.

Training Programs and Age Groups

Educational programs within the center are planned for the 4-6 age preschool group and primary and secondary school students in the 7-14 age range.

Students find the opportunity to practice in a wide range from experiments to coding, from robotic applications to natural sciences and mathematics.

Featured Workshops

Young people participating in the workshops receive both theoretical knowledge and practice in subjects such as algorithm creation, basic software logic, robot design, and project development.

The Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshop stands out as one of the areas that students show the greatest interest in.

New Term Applications and Registrations

Accelerating its scientific education within the scope of the 2026-2027 Academic Year, 302 students applied to the center for TEKNOFEST trainings.

For other applied science and technology training programs, a total of 194 students registered and were included in the trainings.

Evaluation by the Mayor

Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit expressed his satisfaction with the intense interest shown in the center.

Mayor Geçit emphasized that they aim to raise qualified generations and stated that 1,500 students have been introduced to science and technology.
