Yeşilyurt Science Center Welcomes Students in the New Academic Term
Established with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, the center has started the new term with hands-on training ranging from space to robotic coding.
Established with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, the Yeşilyurt Science Center continues to offer hands-on training to children while seeing intense interest in its enrollments for the 2026-2027 academic term.
Establishment and Activities of the Center
Established with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology and TÜBİTAK, alongside the efforts of the Yeşilyurt Municipality R&D Directorate, the Yeşilyurt Science Center brings young people together with technology.
Opening its doors in July and starting to serve within the Yeşilyurt Nation's Garden, the center has provided hands-on training opportunities to one thousand five hundred students to date.
Workshop Studies and Educational Curriculum
Prepared specifically for preschool, primary, and secondary school students under the name Technology Explore, the curriculum includes four different workshops.
Software and Design, Production and Project, Basic Sciences, and Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshops are offered for student participation.
Astronomy Workshop Attracts Great Interest
While the Astronomy, Space, and Aviation Workshop receives great interest from students, children learn space technologies through practical experiments.
Thanks to this workshop, students get the opportunity to closely get to know the planets, the Solar System, and the stars.
New Term Application Figures
It has been reported that significant figures have been reached in the applications carried out within the scope of the 2026-2027 Academic Term.
Three hundred and two students applied for TEKNOFEST Trainings, and one hundred and ninety-four students applied for Applied Science and Technology Trainings.
Evaluations by the Mayor
Yeşilyurt Mayor Prof. Dr. İlhan Geçit expressed his satisfaction with the intense interest shown in the center.
Mayor Geçit stated that they will continue to contribute to the raising of children as curious, inquiring, researching, and producing individuals.
