Reception and Praise for the Taliban Delegation from Russia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov welcomed Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Moscow and congratulated him on the fifth anniversary of the country's liberation from NATO forces.
Lavrov praised the Taliban's successes in fighting ISIS and other extremist groups, as well as their activities against drug trafficking.
Border Tension Between Afghanistan and Pakistan
The annual consultation meetings were overshadowed by escalating cross-border clashes and mutual harsh accusations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Russia's special representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, stated that Moscow is ready to help reduce the tension between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
