China Reacts to US Sanctions on Iran

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated that they oppose the new economic measures announced by the US.
Lin Jian emphasized that his country will resolutely take all necessary measures to defend its rights.
New US Economic Measures
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that any country establishing a financial partnership with Iran will be isolated.
Bessent described this step as the largest financial offensive planned against Iran to date.
Trade Relations with Iran
China is the largest buyer of Iranian oil, though this trade has decreased due to the US blockade.
The Beijing administration argued that the cooperation conducted with Iran is within the framework of international law and cannot be interfered with.
Tehran and Leaders' Summit
Iranian Economy Minister Ali Madanizadeh stated that his country is fully prepared against these expanded sanctions.
These developments occurred ahead of the meeting scheduled to take place next month between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
