Second School Knife Attack in Poland in Two Days: One Employee Dead

In an elementary school in the Polish village of Leszczydol-Nowiny, a 15-year-old former student wearing a helmet camera carried out a knife attack, killing a school employee and injuring two others. The incident was recorded as the second school knife attack in the country within two days.
Attack at Leszczydol-Nowiny School
A knife attack took place on Thursday at around 09:00 AM at an elementary school located in Leszczydol-Nowiny, northeast of Poland's capital, Warsaw. A 15-year-old former student of the school, who was reported to be wearing a helmet camera, targeted staff members working at the institution.
Loss of Life and Injuries
In the attack, a 37-year-old female school custodian lost her life at the scene. Two other people were injured in the attack, while teachers intervened quickly to help subdue the assailant.
Second Incident in Two Days
This event marks the second consecutive school knife attack in Poland. On Wednesday, at another school in Ostroleka, a 19-year-old injured 10 people, including himself, and a 17-year-old suspect was detained in Sierpc on suspicion of planning an attack.
Copycat Concern and Measures
Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated during an emergency meeting that authorities are concerned about a frightening copycat phenomenon. Tusk ordered police to visit schools every day, while authorities are investigating whether the events are linked to an internet challenge.
