US and Iran Take Reciprocal Steps Following Attacks in the Strait of Hormuz

Following airstrikes by United States forces targeting two rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, mutual moves have taken place between Iran and the US.

US Attack on Larak Island

The US Central Command stated that a limited and precise operation was carried out against mine-laying activities posing an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that two people lost their lives and two others were injured as a result of the first US attack carried out since the end of July.

Strait of Hormuz and Regional Tension

Larak Island is located in the Strait of Hormuz, which is critical for global maritime transportation, just off the port of Bandar Abbas.

Iran's attempts to monitor tanker traffic through this island and its demands for transit fees were among the factors that escalated the tension.

Jordan and UAE Targeted

While Iranian media announced that US military bases in Jordan were targeted with ballistic missiles, the Jordanian army stated in the morning hours that eight missiles had been intercepted in the air.

In addition, Iranian state television reported that Iranian military drones targeted an air base in the United Arab Emirates.
