According to the shared data, while economic growth is slowing down or contracting in various regions, upward forecasts and strong domestic demand stand out in some areas.

Europe and Central Asia Regional Outlook

In the Europe and Central Asia Economic Update report, it was noted that developing economies in the region continue to show economic resilience. It was announced that the growth rate is expected to drop from 2.6 percent in 2025 to 2.2 percent in 2026.

Turkey Economy Growth Expectations

It was reported that the Turkish economy is projected to grow by 2.8 percent this year, 3.8 percent next year, and 4.5 percent in 2028. It was emphasized that artificial intelligence has the potential to compensate for the decline in productivity.

Risks in the Middle East and North Africa

In the Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan Economic Update report, it was stated that the region faces severe economic costs. It was conveyed that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz imposes costs on oil-exporting economies in the Gulf.

Growth Forecasts in Africa and East Asia

Sub-Saharan Africa's economic growth is expected to rise from 4.1 percent in 2025 to 4.3 percent in 2026. In the East Asia and Pacific region, growth is projected to stand at 4.5 percent in 2026.

Latin America and South Asia Economies

It was stated that Latin America and the Caribbean are projected to grow by 2.2 percent in 2026. Growth in the South Asian economy is expected to reach 6.9 percent in 2026 thanks to strong foreign exchange inflows and robust domestic demand.
