Zelenskyy says Ukraine got no early warning from partners as Russia hits the power grid again

Russia launched new attacks targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure. While 16 ballistic missiles hit the capital Kyiv and its surroundings, a 21-year-old woman lost her life in the attacks. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that they did not receive early warnings from partner countries.

The overnight Russian attacks targeted 28 substations and critical energy facilities. As a result of the attacks, more than half a million people were deprived of electricity, heat, and drinking water. Air Force spokesman Yurii Ihnat stated that Ukraine received no warning from its partners before the first wave of attacks, and information regarding the second wave arrived too late for air raid sirens to be sounded on time.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that severe shortages in U.S.-made Patriot air defense systems have left the country vulnerable. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a data center, a logistics hub storing drone and cruise missile components, and a locomotive depot were hit.
