€100 million green financing package from İş Leasing supported by EBRD
İş Finansal Kiralama has signed a €100 million financing agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The funds will be used for green energy investments by businesses in the earthquake-affected region and women entrepreneurs.
İş Finansal Kiralama (İş Leasing) has secured a new financing agreement worth €100 million with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Provided under the Turkey Green Economy Financing Facility III (GEFF III) program, this resource aims to support sustainable energy projects for businesses and women entrepreneurs in regions affected by the earthquake.
The €94 million portion of the financing package was provided by the EBRD, while €6 million was obtained on concessional terms from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) under the Climate Investment Funds. According to the terms of the agreement, at least 30 percent of the provided funds will be allocated to businesses operating in regions affected by the 2023 Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes.
İş Leasing General Manager Şafak Öğün stated that the program will contribute to companies developing resilient business models in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, and water management. This program, which will be conducted with the technical advisory support of the EBRD, marks the institution's second joint financing project with İş Leasing following their 2021 TurSEFF collaboration.
