103rd Anniversary Celebration Program of the Republic in İzmir

İzmir is preparing to celebrate the 103rd anniversary of the Republic with official ceremonies, a torchlight procession, fireworks displays, and concerts prepared by the İzmir Governorship.

Within the scope of the program prepared by the İzmir Governorship, while celebrations have been ongoing at Konak Atatürk Square since October 16, official events will take place on October 28-29, 2026. İzmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban invited all residents of İzmir to the celebrations with Turkish flags. The celebrations will begin on Wednesday, October 28 at 12:15 PM with folk dance performances in front of the Government House, and a wreath will be laid at the Atatürk Monument in Cumhuriyet Square at 1:00 PM.

Following the congratulation ceremony in the Governor's office on Thursday, October 29, a celebration and parade will be held in Cumhuriyet Square at 10:30 AM. During the ceremony, İzmir Governor Dr. Süleyman Elban, Aegean Army and Garrison Commander Lieutenant General Zorlu Topaloğlu, and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay will celebrate the public's holiday. In the evening, the celebrations will peak with a concert by the Aegean Army and Garrison Command Band, a torchlight procession, and the 103rd-anniversary concert at Gündoğdu Square.
