15 percent raise scenario for retiree and civil servant salaries and possible new figures
SGK Chief Inspector İsa Karakaş stated that a total 15 percent raise formula, consisting of a 5 percent welfare share in addition to the inflation difference in January salary increases, is on the agenda. If this scenario materializes, the lowest retiree salary is projected to rise to 27,085 TL.
Evaluating the retiree and civil servant salary increases to be made in January, SGK Chief Inspector İsa Karakaş announced that in line with inflation data and budget possibilities, a 15 percent raise formula containing a 5 percent welfare share in addition to the 10 percent legal increase is being discussed in Ankara lobbies.
İsa Karakaş stated that year-end inflation expectations range between 29 percent and 29.99 percent, and in light of these estimates, an inflation difference of around 10 percent for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees and around 8 percent for civil servants and civil servant retirees could occur. It was stated that improvements that can be made within the scope of budget possibilities are being calculated within the Ministry of Treasury and Finance.
It is calculated that if the total 15 percent raise scenario is implemented, the lowest retiree salary, which is currently 23,552 TL, could rise to 27,085 TL, and the lowest civil servant retiree salary, which is 31,520 TL, could rise to 36,248 TL. It is projected that the salary of a university graduate civil servant could reach approximately 84,000 TL with this rate.
Assessment: The figures and formulas shared by Karakaş are based on projections made through current economic expectations and budget studies. Exact raise rates and salary amounts will become clear following the government's official statements and legal regulations.
