2027 Minimum Wage Increase Scenarios and Impacts
The salary increase scenarios for the 2027 minimum wage, which will be determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, and the social security items that will be directly affected by this increase have been announced.
Different increase scenarios are being evaluated for the 2027 minimum wage to be determined by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission. While potential net and gross figures are being calculated based on the inflation forecast in the Medium-Term Program and tax exemption support rates in the budget, it is stated that this increase will affect many social security items.
According to the 28.4 percent inflation forecast in the Medium-Term Program, the net minimum wage is calculated to rise to 36,048 liras, and the gross wage to 42,410 liras. If the 33.7 percent increase rate for tax exemption support in the 2027 budget is applied, the net minimum wage is expected to reach 37,536 liras, and the gross wage to 44,161 liras. In a 30 percent increase scenario, the net wage is projected to be 36,498 liras.
The increase in the minimum wage will directly affect unemployment benefits, severance pay, maternity leave payments, payments for part-time working mothers, sick leave payments, intern wages, BES contributions, and SGK premium borrowings. It is particularly important for citizens who will perform birth, military service, and international service borrowings to apply via e-Government by December 31 in order to make calculations based on current wages.
