31 companies applied for the YEKA wind and solar tenders to be held by the Ministry of Energy. Approximately $2 billion will be invested for a 2,400-megawatt capacity.
31 companies have applied for the renewable energy resource area (YEKA) wind and solar tenders to be organized by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. A new investment of approximately $2 billion will be realized for a total capacity of 2,400 megawatts.
12 companies applied for the 2026 YEKA wind tender and 19 companies for the solar tender to be conducted by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Following the evaluation of the applications, a total of 14 competitions will be held next month for 900 megawatts of connection capacity via the YEKA GES-2026 competitions. Through the YEKA RES-2026 competitions, 7 competitions will be held for a total connection capacity of 1,500 megawatts.
As a result of the competitions to be held for wind (RES) and solar power plants (GES) to be established in Ankara, Batman, Denizli, Konya, Malatya, Mardin, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Kahramanmaraş, Sivas, Balıkesir, Manisa, and Kütahya, a $2 billion investment will be reflected in the field. While the starting ceiling price for a total of 21 competitions has been set at 5.50 euro cents per kilowatt-hour, the floor price will be 3.25 euro cents per kilowatt-hour for solar power plants and 3.50 euro cents for wind power plants.
In the event that the floor price is reached in all competitions, the increase in the contribution share per megawatt will start with an initial price of 10,000 euros. Electricity generated in solar power plants can be sold in the free market for 60 months, and in wind power plants for 72 months, starting from the contract signing date. Upon the completion of the free market sales period, a 20-year electricity purchase process will come into effect for both types of plants.
