35 by 35 Electricity Target on the Table at COP31 Summit in Antalya

At the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) to be hosted and presided over by Turkey in Antalya, the "35 by 35" initiative, which aims to raise electricity's share in global energy consumption from 23 percent to 35 percent by 2035, is planned to be adopted.

According to statements by the International Energy Agency, global electricity demand is growing three times faster than total energy demand. While artificial intelligence applications, rising electric vehicle sales, and air conditioning systems are among the key elements accelerating this transformation, it is stated that the biggest test will be transmitting the generated energy through grids.
