It has been reported that 37 people were detained in Azerbaijan amid restrictions on wearing headscarfs in public schools and the protests triggered by this situation.

Protests were organized following developments indicating that female students wearing headscarfs were prevented from attending classes in public schools in Azerbaijan, and some teachers were asked to uncover their heads to remain in their positions. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior of Azerbaijan, it was stated that 37 people were detained on Monday in connection with the protests regarding school uniform rules. The ministry accused the demonstrators of clashing with educational institution employees, damaging schools, and disrupting educational activities and traffic flow.

Following these developments, Mahmut Şahin, the Deputy Chairman Responsible for Human Rights and Legal Affairs of HÜDA PAR, released a written statement. Şahin called for an immediate end to the ban practices in Azerbaijan, comparing the process to Turkey's February 28 period.
