Aaron Ashby Nears World Series Scoreless Streak Record
Milwaukee Brewers standout pitcher Aaron Ashby extended his postseason scoreless streak to 15.2 innings with his performance against the Tampa Bay Rays, bringing him very close to tying the record.
Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitcher Aaron Ashby made a five-out save in a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 2 of the World Series, greatly contributing to his team taking a 2-0 lead in the series.
Sealing the win by retiring Yandy Díaz in the late innings, Ashby moved a step closer to the record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched in a single postseason. Targeting the 16-inning record set by Andrew Miller in 2016, Ashby currently holds a 15.2-inning streak.
With a total scoreless streak of 20.2 innings including regular-season data, the player was deployed by Brewers manager Pat Murphy in the critical final five outs of the game. The Brewers have managed to come from behind to win in seven of their nine postseason victories this season.
