According to Investment Analysis, the Top 5-Year AI Memory Stock Is SK Hynix, Not Micron
According to an investment analysis, SK Hynix stands out as the top artificial intelligence memory stock for the next five years, outpacing Micron thanks to its market leadership in high-bandwidth memory and its early steps in HBM4 products.
While Micron Technology has been breaking revenue and earnings records over the past year driven by surging memory chip demand, an investment analysis by The Motley Fool reveals that SK Hynix is in a more advantageous position in the artificial intelligence memory market over the next five years.
According to Counterpoint Research data, SK Hynix single-handedly accounted for 50 percent of global high-bandwidth memory (HBM) market revenue as of the second quarter, achieving a share nearly equal to the combined totals of Samsung and Micron. The company earned this success thanks to its early investments in advanced memory packaging and manufacturing technologies.
SK Hynix began mass shipments of its HBM4 products in the second quarter while continuing the development process for its next-generation HBM4E products. The opportunities offered by the company are not limited to Nvidia graphics processors alone; the development of custom silicon chip designs by AI giants such as Alphabet, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta Platforms, OpenAI, and Anthropic creates diversified demand spanning different computing architectures. Despite all these AI-driven growth dynamics, the company's forward P/E valuation maintains a moderate level.
