Along with the projected inflation difference and potential welfare share increases for the July-December 2026 period, new regulation options for pensions have started to become clear. Within the scope of the efforts stated by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek to cover all retirees, criteria such as age, premium days, and household income are being evaluated.

It was projected that the lowest pension could approach 26 thousand liras for retirees expected to receive an inflation difference of approximately 10 percent in the July-December 2026 period. It is stated that in the event of granting a gradual welfare share of 10-15 points in addition to the inflation difference, the January hike rate could reach the level of 20-25 percent. While the option of a uniform increase for base salaries is also being evaluated, claims of 10 thousand TL or 15 thousand TL additional payments are circulating behind the scenes.

In welfare share and salary regulations, elements such as age, household income, the status of working or unemployed individuals in the household, the presence of a disabled individual, and rent expenses are also projected to be addressed. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated that the regulation will cover all retirees and that increases being applied at different rates based on age and the number of premium payment days is being evaluated.

While it is stated that the lowest pension regulation concerns more than 5.1 million people, the efforts are expected to be completed in December and brought to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) following budget negotiations.
