AI Emails Threaten Venture Capital

Hunter Walk, partner at Homebrew Management, stated that the heavy flow of AI-generated emails is clogging his inbox, announcing that he may end his long-standing tradition of replying to every legitimate cold email.

Stating that he climbed the career ladder in Silicon Valley with the support of others, venture capitalist Hunter Walk had long been replying to all cold emails that did not look like spam to maintain this culture of helpfulness. Thanks to this approach, Walk, who previously had the opportunity to invest in a startup sold for $275 million, announced in a blog post published in late September that this policy may come to an end. Expressing that his inbox has been flooded with AI-generated messages, the investor pointed out that this situation makes it difficult to maintain direct communication with entrepreneurs.
