AI-Focused Alpha Schools Fall Behind Their Own Goals
According to a New York Times report based on internal documents, Alpha Schools, which provide AI-focused education, are failing to reach their academic objectives aimed at students learning twice as fast.
The Alpha School chain, known for its AI-focused private schools, is facing difficulties by failing to meet its self-imposed academic goals named "2x Learning," in which it promised students would learn twice as fast as their peers.
According to information based on internal reports obtained by The New York Times, Alpha Schools' performance in the past academic year fell below expectations. In a system where K-8 students complete academic subjects by lunchtime and focus on life skills such as leadership for the rest of the day, fewer than half of the students reached the "2x Learning" goal.
According to the data obtained, one in every five children among the school's students failed to reach the reading goal, while approximately 50 percent failed to fulfill the promise of learning mathematics twice as fast. Meanwhile, school spokesperson Anna Davlantes did not respond to questions and written interview requests from Times reporters.
