AI Resources for Community Colleges Unveiled at 2026 ATE Conference
The ATE Conference held in October 2026 highlighted free resources and professional development programs designed to enable community college faculty to integrate artificial intelligence into their curricula.
The Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Principal Investigators Conference, held at the end of October 2026, introduced free educational materials and curriculum models that support the inclusion of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in community college programs.
Three main centers highlighted at the conference—the National Applied AI Consortium (NAAIC), the National Information Technology Innovation Center (NITIC), and the National Center for Next Generation Manufacturing (NCNGM)—offered strategic support for educators. The NAAIC announced that it has reached 3,500 educators across 480 different schools, providing a knowledge framework and mentorship support for applied AI associate degrees.
While NITIC offers AI-focused professional development pathways for information technology instructors, NCNGM focuses on the future of manufacturing and Industry 5.0 applications. Within the scope of the event, Debasis Bhattancharya from Hawaii Maui College presented examples of AI usage in programming and business courses, while Marion Technical College shared its projects that enable small businesses in rural areas to benefit from AI tools.
